PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a gas-permeable device for cell culture.SOLUTION: A method for culturing a cell comprises: a process of adding culture medium and animal cells to a stationary cell culture apparatus, in which the cell culture apparatus is not sectioned by a semi-permeable membrane, at least a part of the cell culture apparatus at least partially consists of a non-porous gas-permeable material, and ambient gas contacts at least a part of the gas-permeable material; and a process of arranging the cell culture apparatus to a cell culture position which includes ambient gas having a composition suitable for culturing the animal cells, in which in the cell culture apparatus at least a part of the cells is oriented in a position arranged on at least a part of the gas-permeable material, the highest position of the culture medium is at a height exceeding the lowest position of the culture medium by 2.0 centimeters, and the cell culture apparatus is in the state of stationary cell culture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A |
