PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device and a vehicle communication system that have a simple configuration and enable the determination of the position of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A portable device for receiving a signal from an on-vehicle antenna that transmits a radio signal comprises: a reception unit for receiving the radio signal with an antenna with directivity toward a specific direction; a reception intensity measuring unit for measuring reception intensity at the reception unit; and an output unit for outputting light or sound corresponding to the reception intensity measured by the reception intensity measuring unit. This changes the output of light or sound from the portable device according to a change in the direction of the directional antenna relative to the position of a vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
