The fuel cell system supplies a fuel and an oxidizing agent to an electrolyte membrane of a fuel cell, and controls power generation of the fuel cell by controlling the oxidizing agent supply and the fuel supply. The fuel cell system detects the wet state of the electrolyte membrane, adjusts the flow rate of the fuel being supplied to the fuel cell, and adjusts the temperature of the oxidizing agent being supplied to the fuel cell. When the moisture of the electrolyte membrane is to be reduced according to a signal related to the wet state, the fuel battery system increases the temperature of the oxidizing agent in response to the signal related to the wet state and decreases the flow rate of the fuel, compared to when the moisture of the electrolyte membrane is to be increased. |
