A laminate gasket (10) for sealing between two opposing surfaces includes a core layer (20) formed from a sheet of woven material (30) having a first surface (34), a second surface (38) opposite the first surface (34), and a binder material (40) impregnating the sheet and at least partially coating both of the first and second surfaces (34, 38). The laminate gasket (10) also includes a first facing layer (50) adhered to the first surface (34) with the cured binder material (40) and a second facing layer (60) adhered to the second surface (38) with the cured binder material (40) to form a laminate base sheet (70), with each of the first facing layer (50) and the second facing layer (60) comprising a fiber composite material. The laminate gasket (10) further includes one or more process apertures (74) formed through the laminate base sheet and an edge seal (80) formed around an inner edge (76) of the process aperture (74) to prevent interstitial leakage of the process fluid into the core layer (20). |
