PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article inspecting device capable of inspecting an article within an object to be carried by utilizing X-ray absorbance or the amount of absorption of X rays calculated based on X rays transmitted through the article.SOLUTION: An X-ray article inspection system 10 for inspecting an article 51 stored in a product box 50 carried by an article collecting line 52 includes: an X-ray generator 14 for irradiating the article 51 with X rays; a line sensor for detecting X rays that are applied from the X-ray generator 14 and are transmitted through the article 51; and a control system 20 for inspecting the article 51 stored in the product box 50. The control system 20 is configured so as to inspect the article 51 stored in the product box 50 by comparing pre-calculated X-ray absorbance for each article to be inspected with X-ray absorbance calculated based on detection by the line sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
