A column element of modular structure for the vertical cultivation of plants, which are nourished by wetting the roots with an aqueous nutrient solution, is proposed, the individual parts of which can be stacked in a space-saving manner and can be transported, assembled, disassembled and cleaned very easily. The modular structure of the column element (100) comprises a lid part (20), a base part (30) and at least one wall ring (10) between the lid part (20) and the base part (30). The wall ring (10) is made up of several ring segments in which there are formed plant openings (2) in which plants are positionable such that their roots grow into the interior of the column element (100). The lid part (20) is arranged at the end on the uppermost wall ring (10a) and the base part (30) is arranged at the end on the bottommost wall ring (10e). The structure of the column element (100) is fixed and stabilized with the aid of clamping elements which are clamped on the outer side of the column element (100) between the lid part (20) and the base part (30). |
