The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate since a 4G communication system such as LTE, and in particular, to a method and apparatus for efficiently processing priority for transmission in a D2D communication system. The method of the present disclosure includes the steps of: receiving, from an upper layer, a priority for a packet to be transmitted; mapping the packet to a logical channel on the basis of a destination to which the packet is to be transmitted and the priority; and receiving, from a base station, a grant for the transmission of the packet, and transmitting the packet.
