A method for recording a jaw position relationship, comprising: scanning exposed buccal labial surfaces, located between double corners of the mouth, of upper and lower jaws under a pre-determined jaw position relationship so as to obtain upper-lower jaw buccal labial surface scanning data (101); scanning an upper jaw model and a lower jaw model separately so as to obtain upper jaw model scanning data and lower jaw model scanning data (102); and aligning, according to common areas in the upper-lower jaw buccal labial surface scanning data, the upper jaw model scanning data and the lower jaw model scanning data, the upper jaw model scanning data and the lower jaw model scanning data with the upper-lower jaw buccal labial surface scanning data so as to obtain three-dimensional jaw position relationship scanning data (103). Also provided is an apparatus for recording a jaw position relationship.
