The machine has a multi-lobed cylindrical rotor (11) comprising a set of alternate North and South poles formed from rectangular permanent magnets (PM) i.e. neodymium iron boron type permanent magnets, arranged along a radial flux concentration configuration. The magnets are housed in respective recesses (E1) formed in a magnetic mass of the rotor.
