This is for a monopulse radar system 100, that has a transmitter 140, a feed element cluster 110, a processor 160 and four receiving channels 150. Each receiving channel has a digital-to-analogue converter, and the processor calculates the sum and difference signals from the signals that are received through the receiving channels. The processor is arranged to detect if one of the four receiving channels is malfunctioning, and if so it can calculate compensated sum and difference signals from the remaining functioning channels. A malfunction may be detected if one of the received signals changes by an amount thats greater than a predetermined amount. The radar apparatus may further be mounted to a missile that has a tracking radar. |
