PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image device for recording necessary information promptly after a state of necessity occurs while suppressing power consumption.SOLUTION: A video recording device for a vehicle comprises: a CCD camera 10; video recording means for recording video photographed by the camera 10 into recording means (a memory card 12a); and a radio wave sensor 17 for detecting an approaching object and/or an object moving on the periphery. The video recording device for the vehicle is brought into a standby state, where power of the camera 10 is turned on, and/or a partial function of the video recording means operate with detection of the object by the radio wave sensor 17 as a trigger. Thereafter, if abnormality or the like is detected, the video recording device for the vehicle is switched to an active state, and video recording or the like is performed. |
