PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical instrument with a diaphragm that controls vibration characteristics of the diaphragm to change produced sound quality.SOLUTION: A guitar has an actuator 40 supported by a support member 50 connected to an end block so that it is connected to a surface plate 11a. The actuator 40 allows force, in accordance with detection results from an acceleration sensor 20 and a force detection sensor 30 that detect force from a string to the surface plate 11a and a vibrational state of the surface plate 11a, to act on the surface plate 11a, with the support member 50 as a supporting point, and creates a state in which vibration characteristics of the surface plate 11a is forcibly changed. Due to a substantial change in the vibration characteristics of the surface plate 11a, the guitar can change sound quality to produce sound. |
