摘要 A bearing carrier 114 has a bearing body 140 formed of a first material and designed to rotatably support gears, the bearing body has an exterior surface defining a bridge land 156 with a finger cut 152 to channel fluid pressurized by the intermeshing gears towards the pump outlet, the bridge land is formed of a second material integral with the first material. The second material may have different physical properties than the first material including higher ultimate (breaking) & yield (plastic deformation) stress thresholds and melting point and lower density or thermal coefficient. The bearing carriers maybe paired to form a gear mesh pump. The second material may be applied by a laser cladding process. A method for forming these bearing carriers is also claimed.
