PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for positioning an original point of a workpiece, by which the positioning of the original point of the workpiece can be performed accurately.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for positioning an original point of a workpiece, in which a Y-axis-direction edge WY and an X-axis-direction edge WX of the workpiece W are abutted on a plurality of Y-axis-direction positioning members 5A, 5B which are provided at a certain interval properly in the X-axis direction and an X-axis-direction positioning member 9 which is provided in the Y-axis direction, thereby the positioning of the original point of the workpiece is performed. A reciprocating member 23 which freely reciprocates in directions intersecting with the X-axis and the Y-axis is provided in an ascending and descending member 17 which is provided freely vertically movably on a conveying body 13 which is freely movable in the X-axis and the Y-axis directions, and a plurality of adsorbing pads 27 which can freely adsorb the workpiece are provided in a pad holder 29 which is provided rockably horizontally in the reciprocating member 23. When the Y-axis-direction edge WY and the X-axis-direction edge WX of the workpiece W in such a state that the workpiece W is adsorbed with the plurality of the adsorbing pads 27, are abutted on the X-axis-direction positioning member 9 and the Y-axis-direction positioning members 5A, 5B to thereby perform the positioning of the original point of the workpiece, the pad holder 29 is rocked in a proper direction by a rocking imparting means 31 provided in the ascending and descending member 17. |
