The invention provides an air inlet apparatus of an internal combustion engine, which can generate flow with strong tumble in low load, and prevent air flow in above channel in middle-and-high load so as to optimize combustion efficiency by adjusting vortex strength. An inlet distribution valve (65) is formed by extending a plate-shape valve body (67) integrally from a rotating shaft (66); the rotating shaft (66) makes the rotating central line (66) of the rotating shaft (66) in parallel with an upstream end edge (61aa) of a spacing plate (60); an inlet pipe (22) is supported by the rotating shaft (66) freely below the upstream end edge (61aa). When the internal combustion engine operates in low load, the inlet distribution valve (65) seals the upstream side opening on a downside inlet channel (Lp) by utilizing the plate-shape valve body (67), or by utilizing the plate-shape valve body (67) and the rotating shaft (66). |
