PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for managing shared vehicles.SOLUTION: A shared vehicle operation system comprises vehicles which can be used in a shared manner, and a server, and permits a user to use the vehicle by communicating with the user's portable terminal. The system acquires license specific information in the user's driving license, acquires charge information indicating that use charge of the vehicle is charged, on the condition that the license specific information and the charge information are acquired, issues authentication information, stores the authentication information in association with the license specific information as registration information, transmits the authentication information to the portable terminal, also performs authentication processing by using the authentication information received by the portable terminal and the authentication information stored as the registration information when the user uses the vehicle, directly reads out license specific information from the user's driving license, performs collation processing of the read license specific information with the license specific information stored as the registration information, and determines whether to permit the user to use the vehicle on the basis of processing results of the authentication processing and the collation processing. |
