In a flow path member for a liquid ejection head, a plurality of plates (4e, 4f) having a hole serving as a flow path or a groove serving as a flow path are stacked on one another with the interposition of an adhesive layer (18). The plate (4e) has a release groove (17) for releasing an adhesive, and an edge of the release groove (17) has a first convex part (17a) protruding from a principal surface of the plate (4e) having the release groove (17). The first convex part (17a) contacts the plate (4f) onto which the plate (4e) is stacked, preventing the adhesive layer (18) from becoming excessively thin, and thereby preventing the adhesive from leaking out into the flow path.
