PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for safely inserting an implant into a spine.SOLUTION: A spinal implant inserter has a) an outer sleeve having a bore, and b) a forked inner shaft 160 having a proximal rod and a pair of distal tines extending therefrom, each distal tine comprising an engagement feature having a laterally extending dovetail feature.
