PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a separator for an aqueous electrolyte battery, which is superior in ion permeability, electrolytic solution wettability and liquid retentivity, and has an electrically insulating property; and a highly reliable aqueous electrolyte storage battery having a high capacity, a low resistance, and a long cycle life.SOLUTION: A separator for an aqueous electrolyte storage battery comprises: a piece of nonwoven fabric having a pore diameter distribution which satisfies the following expressions (1) to (4): Dmax≤20 μm (1); 0.1 μm≤Dmin (2); Dmax/Dave<3.00 (3); and Dmax/Dmin<5.00 (4) {where Dmax represents a maximum pore diameter (μm), Dave represents an average pore size (μm), and Dmin represents a minimum pore diameter (μm)}. An aqueous electrolyte storage battery and an alkaline secondary battery each comprise the separator.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
