PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to replace an exterior finishing material for efficient replacement of the exterior finishing material.SOLUTION: A method to replace an exterior finishing material of the present invention is a method to replace an exterior finishing material with which edge parts that face each other of the exterior finishing materials adjacent in a vertical direction are fitted by forming a concavity and a convexity, and an upper edge part is fixed on a building frame. The method to replace the exterior finishing material includes the steps for: removing only an exterior finishing material to be replaced from the building frame (step S10); placing an exterior finishing material for replacement provided with a first installation metal fitting at a top edge part over the removed area, and fitting it to the exterior finishing material on a top side by forming the concavity and the convexity (step S20); and fixing a fastening member to the first installation metal fitting from an indoor side of the exterior finishing material for replacement, through a second installation metal fitting connected to the building frame (step S30).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
