PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for internal combustion engine in which downsizing in the winding axis direction, and enhancement of heat dissipation of an ignitor can be achieved.SOLUTION: The ignition coil for an internal combustion engine has a primary coil and a secondary coil coupled each other magnetically, a center core 3 and an outer peripheral core 4 and an ignitor 5. The center core 3 is arranged on the inner peripheral side of the primary coil and secondary coil. The outer peripheral core 4 is arranged on the outside of the primary coil and secondary coil, and forms a magnetic circuit in conjunction with the center core 3. The ignitor 5 electrifies and interrupts the primary coil. The outer peripheral core 4 has a pair of opposite parts 41, 42 facing the opposite end faces of the center core 3 in the axial direction X. One of the pair of opposite parts 41, 42 has a notch 43 opening toward the outside. At least a part of the ignitor 5 is arranged in the notch 43.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
