PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil body whose tip side curves easily and which combines satisfactory pushing ability and good slipperiness, and to provide a guide wire, a catheter, and a medical treatment instrument which include the coil body.SOLUTION: A coil body 10 comprises: a part where a first element wire 11 is wound spirally; and a part where a second element wire 12 which is at the base edge side is wound spirally. In vertical cross-sectional view of the coil body 10, the cross-section of the first element wire 11 has a curvature shape which is convex toward the inner peripheral side, and the cross-section of the second element wire 12 has a rectangle shape. The outer peripheral surface of the first element wire 11 and the outer peripheral surface of the second element wire 12 are continuous to be a continuous surface. Thereby, the coil body whose tip side curves easily and which combines satisfactory pushing ability and good slipperiness can be formed. Thus, the coil body can be suitably used for a guide wire, a catheter, and a medical treatment instrument or the like which require these characteristics. |
