The present invention discloses esters or salts of 2-hydroxy-4-propylcyclohepta-2,4,6-trienone , and applications thereof in preparation of animal antibacterial agents and growth promoters used in feed. The esters or salts of 2-hydroxy-4-propylcyclohepta-2,4,6-trienone has a structural formula as shown in formula 1 or 2: in formula 1, R1 represents heptadecyl; and in formula 2, L is sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper or manganese. The esters or salts of 2-hydroxy-4-propylcyclohepta-2,4,6-trienone t, as shown in formula 1 or 2, of the present invention has high stability and safety, and good antibacterial and growth promotion effects, which make them preferable to be used as animal antibacterial agents and growth promoters in feed, and have a very good application prospect in the cultivation industry.
