The present invention provides a spinning reel to prevent a handle from moving due to rotation of a rotor in a gut releasing direction. According to the present invention, the spinning reel (10) comprises a reel body (12), a handle (14), a spool shaft (16), a spool (18), a rotor (20), a rotation transfer device (24), and a rotation control device (26). The handle (14) is installed to be able to rotate in the side part of the reel body (12). The rotor (20) is rotated towards a gut winding direction and a gut releasing direction around the spool shaft (16) of the reel body (12). The rotation transfer device (24) transfers the rotation of the handle (14) to the rotor (20), and comprises a driving shaft (40), a driving gear (42), and a pinion gear (44). The rotation control device (26) transfers only the rotation towards the gut winding direction of the handle (14) to the driving shaft (40), and includes a handle braking unit (68). The handle braking unit (68) brakes the handle (14) when the handle (14) is rotated towards the opposite direction (RD) to the gut winding direction. |
