An interior aircraft LED light unit (10) includes at least one printed circuit board (1), on which a plurality of LEDs (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e) are connected to a power source (3), each one of the plurality of LEDs (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e) having a predetermined distance (Da, Db, Dc, Dd, De) to the power source (3), and each one of the plurality of LEDs (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e) being associated with a respective thermal transfer member (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, 5e; 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e) having a predetermined size, for transferring heat away from the respective LED (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e), wherein, for at least some of the plurality of LEDs (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e) the predetermined size of the respective thermal transfer member (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, 5e; 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e) varies with the predetermined distance (Da, Db, Dc, Dd, De) of the LED (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e) to the power source (3). |
