摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller capable of correcting a magnetic pole position error during operation of a synchronous motor for the purpose of maximizing efficiency of the synchronous motor.SOLUTION: A controller of a synchronous motor including position detection means 102, differential means 104, torque command means 105, inverter control means 106 and the like comprises: efficiency arithmetic means 108 which obtains efficiency of the synchronous motor 3; torque command means 105 which generates a correction start command; initial-value correction arithmetic means 109 which obtains a first correction value &thetas;added to an initial-value of a magnetic pole position preset when the correction start command is generated; and adding means 110, 103 which corrects the magnetic pole position detection value &thetas;by adding a second correction value &thetas;thereto. The efficiency during operation of the synchronous motor 3 is successively calculated by the efficiency arithmetic means 108 using the magnetic pole position &thetas;corrected with the second correction value &thetas;so that the magnetic pole position &thetas;is corrected by use of the second correction value &thetas;when the efficiency is maximized.
