The present invention relates to a hollow fiber membrane unit provided with a plurality of hollow fiber membrane modules formed from a plurality of hollow fiber membranes, wherein the plurality of hollow fiber membranes are divided into a plurality of sections, and the hollow fiber membrane unit comprises a member that can switch the operation mode in such a way that the operation mode of at least one of the sections is different from the operation mode of the other sections. According to the present invention, if a hollow fiber membrane is damaged, only a specific section of the damaged hollow fiber membrane is switched to halt mode, and the other sections of the hollow fiber membrane modules are operated in filtration mode. Therefore, the hollow fiber membrane unit can be continuously operated without processing water becoming completely contaminated. |
