The present invention relates to a multi-band passive intermodulation distortion (PIMD) suppression method for connecting an antenna, a multi-band input unit, and a base station reception unit by using a directional coupler. The method includes the steps of: (a) outputting a first multi-band signal of a multi-band input unit input through a first terminal of the directional coupler through a third terminal of the directional coupler after reducing the first multi-band signal by the coupling rate and directivity of the directional coupler; (b) reducing a second multi-band signal input through a second terminal of the directional coupler by the coupling rate of the directional coupler and outputting the second multi-band signal through the third coupler of the directional coupler; (c) removing the reduced first multi-band signal by using an uplink (UL) filter connected to the third terminal; (d) amplifying the reduced second multi-band signal by using an amplifier connected to the rear end of the UL filter; and (e) transmitting the second multi-band signal amplified by the amplifier to the base station reception unit. According to the present invention, the multi-band PIMD suppression method can use the directivity of the directional coupler to reduce the passive intermodulation (PIM) size of the Tx signals to be distinguished from Rx signals, thereby using a single path to transmit signals conventionally transmitted through multiple paths. |
