An object of the present invention is to transmit an appropriate image to an external apparatus. The image processing apparatus comprises: a communication control unit, and a processing determination unit. The communication control unit, when an image is photographed by an image capture means, controls a first communication unit to automatically transmit the photographed image to an external apparatus and controls the first communication unit to manually transmit the stored photographed image, which is selected by a user, to the external apparatus. A processing unit processes the photographed image. The processing determination unit, when transmitting the image to the external apparatus, controls the processing unit to process the image to be transmitted based on whether the transmission of the image is automatic transmission to be performed by the first communication unit under the control of the communication control unit or manual transmission to be performed by the first communication unit under the control of the communication control unit. |
