PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler which, when a minor abnormality occurs, prevents damage to an object to be cooled by driving a motor as long as the cooler holds cooling capability, and is not restricted by a type of the motor.SOLUTION: The cooler includes an inverter 100, a motor 210, a temperature sensor 300 for detecting a cooling temperature, and a control unit 400 which generates and outputs a start/stop command d for starting or stopping the inverter 100, and a motor speed command b for matching the cooling temperature with a target temperature. The control unit 400 has a function for, when an abnormality occurs, disabling the motor speed command b and generating an operation mode switching command e to output it to the inverter 100. When the cooling temperature drops from the target temperature beyond a second setting value, during the presence of the operation mode switching command e, the control unit stops the motor 210 by the start/stop command d, and when the cooling temperature rises from the target temperature beyond a first setting value, the control unit activates the motor 210 by the start/stop command d. |
