PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control deterioration of the exhaust emission when the exhaust gas purification catalyst is not in an active state when starting an engine with decreased remaining capacity of the battery.SOLUTION: The control device of a vehicle that has a motor for traveling that is driven by the generated power of a generator by driving the engine and the discharge power of the battery, controls the engine so that the generated power of the generator by driving the engine and the discharged power of the battery becomes the power to be used to drive the motor for traveling, when the exhaust gas purification catalyst is not in the active state when the remaining capacity of the battery is in between the acceptable lower limit value and the first prescribed values set higher than the acceptable lower limit value, when driving the motor for traveling only by the discharged power of the battery. |
