A motor-driven compressor includes a compression mechanism (M). The compression mechanism (M) includes a stationary scroll (17) and a movable scroll (16). The movable scroll (16) and the stationary scroll (17) form a compression chamber (18). The motor-driven compressor has an electric motor accommodated in a motor chamber (120), a suction pressure zone, a discharge pressure zone, and an oil passage (48), which is connected either to the compression chamber (18) or the discharge pressure zone. The electric motor includes a rotary shaft (33) and drives the movable scroll (16) via the rotary shaft (33). A main bearing (35) located in the vicinity of the compression mechanism (M) rotationally supports the rotary shaft (33). The rotary shaft (33) has an in-shaft passage (43). The in-shaft passage (43) has an inlet (46), which is directly connected to the oil passage (48), and an outlet (431), which opens to the motor chamber. The main bearing (35) is exposed in the oil passage (48). The motor chamber is the suction pressure zone. |
