PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition having cosmetic effect, more specifically, to provide a cosmetic composition that can improve a skin barrier function.SOLUTION: A cosmetic composition comprises koji mold or an extract from koji mold. It is preferable that koji mold is Aspergillus kawachii and the extract from koji mold is an extract from Aspergillus kawachii. The cosmetic composition promotes the expression of genes CLDN1 and OCLN related to the promotion of forming tight junction, genes TGM1 and IVL related to the promotion of epidermal keratinization, and genes SPTLC, UGCG and GBA related to the promotion of producing ceramide, and promotes the production of ceramide. The cosmetic composition is useful as a moisturizing agent improving a skin barrier function. |
