A transmission housing for a hammer drill is formed from a right clamshell half 421a and a left clamshell half formed from injection moulded high-grade strong plastics material. The clamshell halves each have a plurality of threaded holes 423a respectively adapted to receive screws (not shown) such that the clamshell halves can be joined together to form the transmission housing which encapsulates a transmission mechanism of the hammer drill. |
