A connecting rod 10 for an internal combustion engine with a small end bearing eye 12 for attachment thereof to a piston of a cylinder, and an eccentric adjusting device 13 for adjusting an effective connecting rod length comprising eccentric rods 15/16 which engage on an eccentric lever 14, and an eccentric 36 which is guided in an aperture in the eccentric lever and in the small end bearing eye, and which has an aperture for accommodating a piston pin 37. Lubricating oil bores 38/39 are introduced into the small end bearing eye, which has a larger radial wall thickness in those regions around the lubricating oil bores, than in adjoining regions of said bearing eye. The thinner portions between the oil bores allows for a reduction in weight of the connecting rod and to improve clearance between the small bearing eye and the eccentric rods. |
