The present invention relates to an armrest for a vehicle with a shock-absorbing function including a base frame connected to a rotary shaft installed in a seat back of a vehicle seat to be able to rotate and supporting an arm of a passenger and a damping frame connected to an end of the base frame by a hinge pin to be able to rotate, elastically supported by a return spring installed in the hinge pin and damping a load and a shock. A guide hole is penetrated through a part of the base frame adjacent to the hinge pin in a circumferential direction of the hinge pin. A guide protrusion inserted into the guide hole is extended and formed in an end of the damping frame corresponding to the guide hole, thereby limiting a radius of gyration of the damping frame. A pad made of a foaming resin is covered around the circumferences of the base frame and damping frame. A covering is finished on the outer surface of the pad. Thus, the armrest for a vehicle with a shock-absorbing function formed into a single body is provided. Accordingly, the effects of securing the safety of the passenger by absorbing energy due to the excessive load of the passenger or the shock, preventing damage to the armrest for a vehicle, and reducing manufacturing costs and a weight by weight lightening are expectable. |
