摘要 The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for diagnosing a status of a battery using a harmonic wave and impedance, which may predict a lifespan and a replacement cycle of the battery by diagnosing an aging degree of the battery. The apparatus includes: a measuring unit that measures a voltage and a charging state of the battery during charging or discharging; a charging/discharging unit that charges and discharges the battery; a current injection unit that applies a predetermined current to the battery; a data collecting unit that collects information on a state of the battery by charging and discharging cycles of the battery, and stores current and voltage components thereof in an array from; an impedance measuring unit that measures an impedance value using a charging state and a change rate of the impedance of the battery through the measuring unit and the data collecting unit; and a harmonic wave measuring unit that measures a change rate of a harmonic wave by identifying frequency characteristics by measuring voltage and current components at each frequency on the basis of the impedance value measured by the impedance measuring unit. The present invention determines a lifespan of a battery by measuring a lifespan and a charging state of the battery and additionally measuring properties of a harmonic wave, thereby improving accuracy and reliability for the determination of the lifespan.
