PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating section structure on which a detachable authentication device can be mounted and used for an image processing apparatus and an information processing apparatus.SOLUTION: An operating section 6 comprises an operating panel 7 and an authentication device placement section 8. The authentication device placement section 8 comprises a surface which inclines forward in the same way as the operating panel 7 and a lid 13 which are arranged on a right side of the operating panel 7 when seen from a front side of an apparatus, taking into account that there are more right-handed persons, and the lid 13 is placed on a recess 14 for mounting an authentication device. In the recess 14 for mounting the authentication device, the authentication device 17 is attached. For this attachment, first and second embossed regions 14a and 14b and a non-embossed region 14c are formed by double-sided tape and the authentication device 17 is mounted in a state that a USB cable 16 is detached while being matched to the second embossed region 14b. Then, the USB cable 16 is connected and the authentication device 17 is mounted in a position where a connector 18 can be put through in a state that an opening 15 is hidden. |
