PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a projector capable of suitably cooling an arc tube.SOLUTION: A light source device 5 includes: an arc tube 51 including a light emitting section 511 and a first sealing section 512; a first reflection mirror 52 having an approximate concave surfaced reflection plane 5221; and a housing body 6 storing these. The housing body 6 includes a duct section 7 positioned above the arc tube 51, extending along a central axis of an optical flux reflected by the reflection plane 5221 and circulating cooled air toward an opposite direction to an advancing direction of the reflected light by the reflection plane 5221. The duct section 7 has: a first aperture section 6134 positioned more on a leading tip side in the advancing direction than an aperture end of the first reflection mirror 52; a wall section 6135 becoming an end edge of the duct section 7 by forming an end edge on a base end side in the advancing direction in the first aperture section 6134; and an inclined section 6132 having cooled air incline toward a surface on the opposite side as the surface where the first aperture section 6134 is formed. |
