PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of merchandise without adding great limitation on dimensions of a detection object.SOLUTION: A detection area of merchandise is constituted at a top face of a bottom wall portion 41 by providing side wall portions 42 opposed to each other upright on both sides of the bottom wall portion 41 and providing a light emitting element 50a and a light receiving element 50b at the side wall portions 42 such that irradiation light from the light emitting element 50a passes above the bottom wall portion 41. Light shielding means is constituted by providing, between a middle point area C equidistant from both of the side wall portions 42 at the top face of the bottom wall portion 41 and the light emitting element 50a, a light shielding portion 43 that blocks incidence of light irradiated from the light emitting element 50a onto the middle point area C. Thus, direct incidence of light on the light receiving element 50b from the light emitting element 50a is allowed, and incidence of reflection light is blocked. |
