Disclosed are a UV ray sterilization device, and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a UV ray sterilization device comprises: a UV ray emitting part which sterilizes a target object by emitting UV rays on the target object; an operating driver which operates the UV ray emitting part; a power supply part which supplies power to the operating driver; and a pulse width modulation (PWM) control part which generates and delivers PWM control signals to the operating driver, and controls supplied power by using or applying at least one from duty ratio and frequency of the PWM control signals depending on the operating environment of the UV ray emitting part. The UV ray sterilization device can reduce heat generated from a UV ray emitting part. |
