PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical operation device for suppressing polarization dependent characteristics.SOLUTION: The optical operation device includes: an optical operation element for outputting light input from an optical input/output port to the optical input/output port; a condenser lens system for optically coupling the optical input/output port to the optical operation element; a first polarization light operation element for displacing the optical path of one of two light having mutually orthogonal polarization states included in the light input from the optical input/output port side, and for outputting the light in almost parallel directions; and a second polarization light operation element for outputting the two light having the mutually orthogonal polarization states included in the light input from the optical input/output port side by bending the optical paths with mutually opposite angles. A polarization light operation part includes the first and second polarization light operation elements to separate the two light having the mutually orthogonal polarization states included in the light input from the optical input/output port, and to allow the optical paths of the two light to intersect in the neighborhood of the focal position at the optical input/output port side of the condenser lens system. |
