PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of reliably preventing a temperature of gas from approaching a critical point while the temperature of the gas to be introduced in a compressor at a most downstream section is set at a low temperature range relatively close to the critical point in a multistage compressor for compressing the gas with its physical properties being greatly changed in the vicinity of the critical point.SOLUTION: A multistage compressor of this invention includes: a bypass flow passage 14 for mixing high-temperature gas the temperature of which is higher than that of intermediate gas to the intermediate gas to be discharged from a cooler and supplied to a high pressure side compressor; flow rate regulating means for regulating a flow rate of the high-temperature gas in the bypass flow passage 14; a sensor 16 for detecting the temperature and pressure of the intermediate gas after mixing the high-temperature gas and before supplying to the high pressure side compressor; and a control device 17 for controlling operation of the flow rate regulating means on the basis of the values of the temperature and pressure of the intermediate gas, and the high-temperature gas includes the intermediate gas discharged from an impeller other than on a lowermost stage of a plurality of stages. |
