PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet storage device capable of orderly accumulating and storing sheets at a correct position when dropping the sheets from a paper ejection port onto a paper mounting surface for storage in a device configuration provided with a side edge support member for temporarily mounting sheets between the paper ejection port and the paper mounting surface.SOLUTION: A level difference is formed from a paper ejection port of a paper ejection path to arrange a sub tray and a stack tray vertically in this order, and the sub tray is provided with a side edge support member for supporting a side edge part of a sheet, and shift means for moving the side edge support member between an operation position on the tray and a standby position outside the tray. When directly carrying out the sheet from the paper ejection port to the paper mounting surface, an edge face guide part of the side edge support member guides one side edge of the sheet dropping from the paper ejection port onto the paper mounting surface so as to specify a dropping position. |
