A method and a device for receiving and sending information are provided. The method includes sending area information indicating a target area of a notification message to a terminal in a process of sending the notification message. The area information is added in the reception information of the notification message or in the notification message. The area information indicates an applicable area of the notification message, that is, the notification message is only applicable to a terminal in the area, so that a network side is capable of controlling a target area of sending a notification message, and a large number of irrelevant terminals are prevented from receiving a notification message, which thereby relieves the loads of a network and a terminal. |
