The present invention relates to a display apparatus capable of automatically adjusting a backlight set value according to a measured luminance value. A display apparatus capable of controlling a luminance thereof according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a display panel; a user input unit which receives a users input for adjusting a backlight set value; a memory which stores the backlight set value corresponding to the users input; a backlight driving unit which drives a backlight according to the backlight set value; a luminance sensing unit which measures a luminance of the display device; and a control unit which determines a luminance set value by constantly adjusting the backlight set value until the luminance value measured by the luminance sensing unit is in a predetermined range. |
