PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form more appropriate images by correcting image data according to a spot shape of a light source on an image carrier and a pattern of the image data in an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic method.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus is for an image forming apparatus forming images by exposing an image carrier by an exposure unit, and has generation means for generating control signals for controlling the exposure unit on the basis of input image data. The control signals are generated, for target pixels constituting the input image data, according to a pattern in an area including the target pixels and similarity to a shape of a light intensity distribution when the target pixels are exposed on the image carrier. |
