A rack guide supporting member (24), which has a supporting hole (23), and is supported by, for example, a housing (18), is provided, the supporting hole (23) supporting a part of a rack guide (19) in such a manner that the rack guide (19) is slidable in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to an axial direction of a rack shaft (8). The rack guide supporting member (24) supports an elastic body (25, 26). A bottom face of an axial groove (16) of the rack shaft (8) includes a first region that includes a first axial end, a second region that includes a second axial end, and an intermediate region that is interposed between the first and second regions, and avoids contacting the elastic body (25, 26).
