PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an intermediate substrate for press molding that shows excellent shapability in press molding, and has both reliability of a high mechanical characteristic and reinforcement effect in a molded product that can be obtained; and the molded product obtained from the same.SOLUTION: An intermediate substrate for press molding in which a discontinuous reinforced fiber dispersed in a thermoplastic resin in a monofilament shape is distributed at random, is characterized in that a component (I) and a component (II) are laminated on top of each other, the component (I) being formed in the shape of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet with an average number of contact points NI of 30/fiber or more and less than 200/fiber, and a component (II) being formed in the shape of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet with an average number of contact points NII of 1/fiber or more and at most 100/fiber. A ratio of the component (II) in the intermediate substrate for press molding is 30-70% by volume, while the NI and the NII satisfy the relationship 0.8 NI > NII. |
