PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of climbing on a steep hill by backward traveling of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A threshold offset value Vofs(t) is set to be a first prescribed value when an engine (1) is operated under prescribed operation conditions and an R range is selected in a shift device (10). A knocking determination threshold Vth(t) and a knocking detection amount Vk(t) are calculated with the usage of the threshold offset value Vofs(t) and strength of knocking detected by a knocking sensor (2). Occurrence of knocking is determined when the knocking detection amount Vk(t) is larger than 0, and a retard amount &thetas;n(t) for each time of ignition and a retard correction amount &thetas;k(t) are calculated. Based on a knocking learning value Kkni(t) and the retard correction value &thetas;k(t), ignition timing is calculated, and an ignition signal is supplied to an ignition plug (4). |
